Chocolate Mousse

Here's a simple Chocolate Mousse recipe…but of course.

Treat yourself to chocolate mousse whenever the stress level or pressures of organising get to you. Firstly just preparing it will get your mind off everything and secondly one bite into the finished product will get the “feel good” feeling right back. And you will be ready to get at it again.

Tip: To make it even more exciting get your significant other to join you in making this very simple Chocolate Mousse. He could do all the whisking (good time to check out his biceps) and tasting (finger licking good), hmm…

Chocolate Mousse

Serving: 4
Preparation time: 30 minutes

8 ounces baking chocolate (semi sweet), chopped
½ cup water
2 tablespoon butter
3 egg yolk
3 tablespoon sugar
1 ¼ cup whipping cream, whipped

  1. Make sure you have your cream whipped and chilling in the fridge.
  2. Melt chocolate with 1/4 cup of water and butter on low, stir until smooth.
  3. Cool for 10 minutes.
  4. Whisk all 3 egg yolks, sugar and remaining water in a saucepan.
  5. Cook and stir on medium heat until mixture reaches 160* (approximately 2 minutes).
  6. Remove from heat; whisk in chocolate.
  7. Set saucepan in ice and stir until cooled.
  8. Fold in whipped cream.
  9. Transfer into dessert bowls.
  10. Chill.
